Okay, so the emerald green couch I mentioned in my last post did not work out. For one, it was too big to fit up the stairs. Also, I knew it was vintage, but it had more wear than what I had imagined. The kicker was really the smell that goes along with being in damp seaside air in a mobile home for 40+ years. BUT, it was a beautiful day to drive out to Birch Bay and the seller was the nicest women.

She made me feel like a friend in a matter of minutes. I actually felt bad about not buying the couch! So, instead, I bought a lamp, presumably from the same era (without the smell!). I think with a good scrub and a new shade, it will be quite to my liking.

So, I was back to square one in finding seating for the "lady lounge." In scanning through local online classified ads, I found a little couch in good shape for a very reasonable price. It doesn't have much detail or character, but the design is neutral and most importantly, it is stench-free. I will add my own coordinating pillows, and hopefully it will all tie together. I'm already looking forward to snuggling up on it with a good book.

Last year I found an original bullet planter at a yard sale. I still can't believe it was there, let alone being nearly free (they made replicas that are $100-150 each!). As a child my grandmother would take me "yardsaling," but aside from a few times as a teenager, I have not been back at it. If I keep finding things like this, I should go every chance I get.

This may still work with the color scheme I had in mind for the LL in my last post, but I still need to find a desk. If anyone has any ideas, I am all ears.
